Slated as the best “small” HHH event in 2016, Indochina Mekong Hash will be held 4-6 November in Siem Reap, Cambodia. This event is limited to 350 participants, a number that is purposely kept small enough for everyone to see old friends who return each year.

Indochina Mekong Hash rotates among the countries along the mighty Mekong River. Last year the event was held in Myanmar (Burma), and IMH 2017 will be in Vientiane, Laos.

If you are in Cha-Am (near Hua Hin, Thailand), you might want to light up the night at the Guy Fawkes Day Hash on the 5th of November. Be sure to check with the organizers to see if the event will be held, as many events in the Land of Smiles have been cancelled or postponed due to the recent passing of the King.

More details come to light on the tragic death of a hasher at the International Hash Challenge last month. Could the death have been prevented, and what implications does this loss have for future events?

The Aloha Hash House Harriers celebrated their 25th Anniversary with a 7-day cruise to four Hawaiian islands in a trip that will be long remembered by hashers who came from across the USA, and as far away as India, Malaysia,Thailand, Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom to join the cruise. Read all about this amazing journey from Hazukashii, the founder of the Aloha H3.

The first week of December may be the excuse you have been looking for to visit the Philippines. The Angeles City H3 celebrates its 2000th run 1-4 December AND the first Angeles City Craft Beer Festival will take place 2-4 December. Coincidence or just good timing for both events?

Coming up in January, Harrier Magazine’s annual Best HHH Events of the Year edition will be unveiled. 2017 looks to be a banner year for HHH events with Eurohash, Pan Asia Hash, InterAmerica’s Hash, and Pan Africa Hash. Nash Hashes are coming up in Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Borneo, Ireland, Thailand, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom. The Bali Hash 2 will celebrate 25 years of hashing on The Island of the Gods in January 2017.

I look forward to seeing you on trail soon.

On On,
Jim Edens
